Location: Northern Lights RV Resort (near Vilna / Smoky Lake)
Wage: $15.00 - $17.00/hour based on experience
Schedule: Approximately 35 hours/week (Wednesday–Sunday, including evenings and weekends)
Duration: 8–16 weeks (Canada Summer Jobs funded position)
Eligibility
This role is supported by the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Designed to empower the next generation, this program helps youth gain paid summer work experience while develop marketable skills. To be eligible for this role applicants must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start, be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or someone who has been officially given refugee protection in Canada and be legally allowed to work in Canada. About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hard-working individual to support day-to-day resort operations throughout the summer season. This is a hands-on, active role that combines outdoor work, guest interaction, and event support. The right candidate will take pride in keeping the resort running smoothly and helping create a welcoming, community-focused environment.
This position is best suited for someone with previous work experience who is comfortable working independently and taking initiative. We value reliability, teamwork, and creating a welcoming experience for guests and members.
What We’re Looking For
Must Have:

Valid driver’s license

Reliable transportation to and from the resort

Ability to lift and carry (up to ~50 lbs)

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Available to work evenings and weekends

What You’ll Be Doing
-
Grounds & Facility Support
-
Landscaping and general upkeep (mowing, trimming, raking, cleanup)
-
Preparing and organizing firewood (stacking, bundling, delivery)
-
Assisting with painting, organizing, and seasonal setup
-
Monitoring and filling water tanks and assisting with RV water fills
-
Maintaining cleanliness of common areas and facilities
-

Guest Services & Weekend Operations
-
Assisting with guest arrivals (especially Friday evenings)
-
Delivering firewood and water to sites
-
Answering basic questions and helping guests navigate the resort
-
Supporting concession operations during busy periods
-

Events & Activities
-
Helping set up and run events such as:
-
Pancake breakfasts
-
Community meals and potlucks
-
Kids activities
-
Games and tournaments
-
Assisting with setup, cleanup, and equipment movement

Equipment Use (Training Provided)

Operating a side-by-side utility vehicle
-
Towing a small utility trailer for supplies and equipment
-
What A Typical Weekend May Look Like
-
preparing sites for guest arrivals

Typical Schedule
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (prep, maintenance, setup)
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (prep, maintenance, setup)
Friday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (peak arrivals, guest support, concession)
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (guest support, events, maintenance, operations)
Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (check-outs and cleanup)
★ Weekend availability is required.
★ Exact hours may vary based on the successful candidate’s availability, long weekends, special events, and operational needs. A consistent schedule will be established at the time of hiring.
